Anyway, I have an old, abused, mass produced Lumanog Knock-off acoustic guitar that I got six years ago. As you can see from the pictures below, it has been through a lot. The guitar still sounds descent enough which is why it hasn't been sentenced to storage or the trash pile. So after a little googling a few months ago, the idea of refurbishing it entered my mind.
So here's the guitar early on Saturday Morning before I started the pimping out process. (By the way, this project has budget constraints as I don't want to spend too much that I might as well have bought a new guitar.)

So after a few hours with me and my sandpaper(which is why my shoulders are currently aching), wood glue, wood putty, and a can of black acrylic epoxy spray paint, it ended up like this.

Then, I gave my little brother some acrylic paint and a chinese brush and I told him to go crazy.

Finally, after putting in some new strings, it now looks like this. Still sounds fine and now looks almost new.

Reviewing it, I did a lot of things wrong. The surface should have been made more smoother with wood putty before I painted it and the binding on the edges could have used more work. But overall, at least the guitar now has a "play me" aura.
More pics here.

Nice one, Spidamang! I'm referencing this in my Notespell studio blog.
